Among the other enchanting things that occur every year at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, the past two years’ editions have included visits from a TV documentary crew, which produced a look inside the event that’s worthy of the concours itself. The first hour-long broadcast, Winning Amelia, about the 2019 event, appeared on WJXT-TV in nearby Jacksonville, Florida, where it copped an Emmy award for Best Event Coverage. WJXT has already won the Communicator Award for its documentary productions. The station followed it up at this year’s extravaganza by producing Driving Amelia, whose hourlong narrative focus on the accomplishments of the concours’ 2020 honoree, Roger Penske. And now, it’s about to be aired for a national viewing audience.

Marking a glorious quarter-century of motoring’s very best along the coast of northeast Florida, Driving Amelia will be shown on NBCSN next Tuesday, January 5th, at 10 p.m. EST. The program was produced by Gemstone Media of Jacksonville, and naturally, it includes the double Best of Show award – road car and race car – that’s the signature conclusion every year at Amelia Island. The 2021 edition of this wonderful happening is set for March 4th through 7th, with Lyn St. James as this year’s honoree.
